John Doe

John Doe is being sued by the Imams, who after acting in an extremely suspicious manner were removed from the US Airways flight form Minneapolis to Phoenix. Now, I see on Michelle Malkins blog that a few bloggers, Uncle Jimbo of youtube.com/unclejimbomadcity, Robert Spencer of jihadwatch.com, Erick Stakleback of cbn.com/blogs/erick_stakleback/index.aspx, and Brian Preston of hotair.com, have stepped up with the John Doe Manifesto, the manifesto lets it be known to all who would enslave us, or work to bring down America that John Doe will not be intimidated. He will not be silenced, and he will not give a rat’s pa-toot what they think. He is vigilant, he is aware or his surroundings, he is watching. But, who is John Doe, really? He is the guy looking over from the next car at the stop light. He is the woman who watched you pump gas into the gallon can for your lawn mower. John Doe is bagging your groceries. He is the cashier at the store where you stop on the way home from work. He is the person who collects your garbage. He is the woman pushing the stroller, who smiled pleasantly as you passed. He is the jogger in the park. John Doe is us. He is every American who watched television on 11 September, 2001 with purple faced, white fisted rage as the Twin Towers fell. He howled in frustration at his feelings of impotence, because there was nothing he could do, when learning about the Pentagon. He wept, unashamed, at the bravery of the passengers on flight 93. He wants to do some thing, anything, to protect his country, and to defend her. John Doe does not care when told he is a bigot because he is on alert for the enemies of his country. He will become more vigilant. He is more suspicious, he is taking a harder look at those who are trying to make his vigilance falter. He will not back down. John Doe will tell the flight attendants when he sees something, or someone that isn’t quite right. He will call the Police when he sees something disturbing, he doesn't care if he is wrong. He will err on the side of caution. We are John Doe. I am John Doe. Are you John Doe?
Below is the John Doe Manifesto as taken from Michelle Malkin’s blog.

Dear Muslim Terrorist Plotter/Planner/Funder/Enabler/Apologist,
You do not know me. But I am on the lookout for you. You are my enemy. And I am yours.
I am John Doe.
I am traveling on your plane. I am riding on your train. I am at your bus stop. I am on your street. I am in your subway car. I am on your lift.
I am your neighbor. I am your customer. I am your classmate. I am your boss.
I am John Doe.
I will never forget the example of the passengers of American Airlines Flight 93 who refused to sit back on 9/11 and let themselves be murdered in the name of Islam without a fight.
I will never forget the passengers and crew members who tackled al Qaeda shoe-bomber Richard Reid on American Airlines Flight 63 before he had a chance to blow up the plane over the Atlantic Ocean.
I will never forget the alertness of actor James Woods, who notified a stewardess that several Arab men sitting in his first-class cabin on an August 2001 flight were behaving strangely. The men turned out to be 9/11 hijackers on a test run.
I will act when homeland security officials ask me to “report suspicious activity.”
I will embrace my local police department’s admonition: “If you see something, say something.”
I am John Doe.
I will protest your Jew-hating, America-bashing “scholars.”
I will petition against your hate-mongering mosque leaders.
I will raise my voice against your subjugation of women and religious minorities.
I will challenge your attempts to indoctrinate my children in our schools.
I will combat your violent propaganda on the Internet.
I am John Doe.
I will support law enforcement initiatives to spy on your operatives, cut off your funding, and disrupt your murderous conspiracies.
I will oppose all attempts to undermine our borders and immigration laws.
I will resist the imposition of sharia principles and sharia law in my taxi cab, my restaurant, my community pool, the halls of Congress, our national monuments, the radio and television airwaves, and all public spaces.
I will not be censored in the name of tolerance.
I will not be cowed by your Beltway lobbying groups in moderate clothing. I will not cringe when you shriek about “profiling” or “Islamophobia.”
I will put my family’s safety above sensitivity. I will put my country above multiculturalism.
I will not submit to your will. I will not be intimidated.
I am John Doe.

Light Bulb Lunacy

American Thinker- Print Article

This is a pretty good article about light bulbs and a proposed Congressional ban on incandescent light bulbs.

From the American Thinker

"In a few weeks the US Congress is likely to vote to phase out the standard incandescent lightbulb within a decade. The frantic race to see who can best appease the global warming alarmists will claim another victim, the friendly glow of the direct descendant of Thomas Edison's filament-based light bulb."

Cheap electric light, through Edison's incandescent light bulb, is one of the single greatest advancements in human history, ranking right up there with fire, the wheel, and the internal combustion engine. Just think how wonderful our lives are because we have harnessed electricity. Just think how wonderful our lives have become because we are no longer slaves to the cycles of light and darkness. "I think I'll read a little before I turn in."

So, Congress is trying to make the incandescent light bulb a thing of the past, replacing it with those itty-bitty flourescent bulbs that cost five times as much and are made in China. So, by a) screwing the little guy into spending five times as much on a bulb that doesn't last five times as long nor give off equal light; and b) giving an economic boom to the Chinese - who are already building one coal plant a week, Congress hopes to limit greenhouse gas emissions produced by coal plants in the US.

Go read the article.

The bottom line is: never trust a bunch of legistlators to do anything but screw up our lives.

Oh, wait: that's every day's bottom line!

"Star Wars"

My Way News - Missile-Defense System Test Succeeds

The Army recently shot down a scud-like missile flying over the ocean near Hawaii.

That idiot Reagan, thinking we could shoot missiles out of the sky. Let's just live with the Red Menace.

Imus

Imus Apologizes for Rutgers Remark

That remarkable broadcaster Don Imus, with his posse, on the radio the other day:

"Imus was speaking with producer Bernard McGurk when the NCAA title game between Rutgers and Tennessee came up.

"That's some rough girls from Rutgers," Imus said. "Man, they got tattoos ..."

"Some hardcore hos," said McGurk.

"That's some nappy headed hos there, I'm going to tell you that," Imus said.

Nice. I'm sure everyone out there who has ever listened to Imus knows that his gang - especially Bernard - are a bunch of racists.

I'm a long-time listener and think Imus is one of the best interviewers out there. And really funny when he's on his meds. But when he's off them, he's a real jerk.

Videos you should see

PoliPundit.com

Two videos at Polipundit. you should watch. Both related to the war in Iraq and the insincerity of the liberal position (and the lying by the liberal members of Congress. The first is a group of citizens from New Hampshire ("Live Free or Die") visiting with one of their congressmen. The second is a television personality with a show called "Black & Right." Interesting. About ten minutes each.

Go-Go Godzilla

FOXNews.com - Predators Promptly Scarf Up Endangered Rabbits Reintroduced Into Washington Wildlife Area - Science News | Current Articles

How's that old song go: "History shows again and again how nature points out the folly of men...."

Well, this one isn't quite like that. In a multi-million dollar lollapalooza, the Washington Fish and Wildlife department release 20 endangered rabbits back into the Sagebrush Flat Wildlife Area. According to the "pygmy rabbit coordinator" David Hays, only four of the varmints released were still alive: "Coyote Munched" says Paulie.

There are two things that are amazing in this. First, that a rabbit breeding program cost millions. Second, that someone actually has a title "Pygmy Rabbit Coordinator," is proud of it, allows himself to be quoted using that title, and doesn't work for a cartoon production company.

Amazing. "Several of the rabbits were fitted with GPS monitors." The pygmy rabbit coordinator said the agency is "looking at ways to reduce predation." Yes, let's teach coyotes and wolves to be nice to rabbits.

There is just way too much in this article that shows how misguided our society is getting. "Rabbits that introduced into the wild with great fanfare last month have been killed by predators." Way to unintentionally funny.

Unbelievable. History shows again and again how nature points out the folly of men. Go go Godzilla!!

More "Star Wars"

Fredericksburg.com - A missile punch at bullet prices

Back in October the Navy tested an electro-magnetic rail gun firing a 3.2 kg projectile at a speed of 6,700 mph. That's fast. Using electrical power from a naval nuclear power plant instead of carrying tons of explosives will also make the weapon safer for the crew.

The projectiles for the cannon are expected to be in the $1000s range, compared to the $1000000 range for the Tomahawk cruise missile the Navy currently uses. So, faster, safer, more timely support adapting proven technology. Build, Deploy, Upgrade, we in the technology business say. Good going, Navy.

And, for the libs, here's the reminder:

"The concept was born in the 1970s then promoted when President Ronald Reagan proposed the anti-missile "Star Wars" Strategic Defense Initiative. The SDI railgun was originally intended to use super high-velocity projectiles to shoot down incoming ballistic missiles. "

2A Updates and Stuff

Hey folks, the Swamp Fox here. I asked Paulie, about an idea I had, and he liked it. I will start posting on a monthly basis an article on the Second Amendment. Mostly from the internet, and the NRA’s two magazines American Rifleman (AR), and America’s First Freedom (AFF), I will be including a couple of armed citizen stories, the Freedom Index, some new gear, new guns, and maybe what the antis are up to, and maybe some other tidbits I find interesting, along with what ever laws may seem relevant to our Second Amendment rights. I am a bit late on this the first installment, but will try to be on top of things in future posting this column, as it were. If anyone has any ideas on what to call this column please don’t hesitate to volunteer them. Now without further ado here is my first regular feature, hope you all enjoy it. Thanks.

DC Voting "rights"

House votes to give D.C. a seat-Nation/Politics-insider.washingtontimes.com

The House passed a bill giving congressional voting rights to the District of Columbia. Here's what one RINO had to say:

" Rep. Thomas M. Davis III, Virginia Republican, lamented the "taxation without representation" status of the District, saying Congress has a moral obligation to give fair representation to the District's taxpaying residents, especially those who serve in the military and work in government jobs. "

Of course, the Congress would never think to remove federal taxes. Wouldn't that be better? No taxation, no representation.

The District of Columbia was established as a Federal City so that the actions of the city government could not coerce the Federal Government in any way. For example, DC can't threaten to shut off the power to federal buildings unless Congress takes action X or Y.

My interpretation of the Constitution says we require a constitutional amendment to give the District a voting seat, as it is not now one of the "several states" mentioned therein.

Anyway, happy April 20th to all the potheads.

Chicken Littles, the Backstabbing Ones

Reid says Bush told Iraq war lost cause-Nation/Politics-insider.washingtontimes.com

Here's that patriot and troop supporter Harry Reid:

"This war is lost and the surge is not accomplishing anything as indicated by the extreme violence in Iraq yesterday," Mr. Reid, Nevada Democrat, said at a Capitol Hill press conference with anti-war state legislators.
Mr. Reid said that both Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates agree with his position, though neither has ever declared defeat.
"You have to make your own decisions as to what the president knows," said Mr. Reid, who left the press conference without fielding follow-up questions.
The White House said no one recalled Mr. Reid saying "the war is lost" at the meeting with the president. "

I almost wish Tom Daschle was back.
